Countryside Classroom

A new adventure trial and improved wildlife area are now open for exploration at Skelton Grange Environment Centre, Leeds. Thanks to The Veolia Environmental Trust's Landfill Communities Fund, and loads of support from Leeds volunteers, the new trail winds its way through a beautiful, well-managed nature area. There's a new boardwalk and bridge built from oak and recycled plastic, and the site’s woodland, riverside, pond and meadow habitats have all been improved for wildlife and visitors to enjoy.

Skelton Grange offers inspiring outdoor learning days for 3-11 year olds following EYFS guidance and the primary curriculum. Alternatively schools can focus on developing confidence, resilience and problem solving - and having fun! Children are taught in small groups by trained staff and volunteers, with hands on learning at the heart of everything they do.

Full day or twilight professional development training for school staff and childminders is also available at Skelton Grange or at schools and settings
