The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) is a membership organisation for owners of land, property and rural businesses. As custodians of the countryside, our members work hard to feed the nation, mitigate climate change and support biodiversity, whilst also creating jobs and prosperity.
Our members take pride in welcoming people from all backgrounds to the countryside. Since Covid-19, rural areas have seen a significant increase in the number of people wanting to enjoy rural walks. Unfortunately, this can often mean people leaving litter, starting fires, leaving gates open and allowing dogs to interfere with livestock. The CLA wants to educate the younger generation on how to enjoy the countryside safely and responsibly by following the Countryside Code.
In partnership with LEAF, the CLA has published an online resource pack to help teachers and youth group leaders to educate young people about the benefits, and the responsibilities, of visiting the countryside.
