FaceTime a Farmer links schools of all kinds with farmers who can provide direct insights into whatever aspect of farming they are interested in. To find out more, whether you are a school or a farmer, go to  www.leafuk.org/facetimeafarmer or contact Julie.Neale@leafuk.org

Bebington High Sports College was linked with Chris Chater, General Manager for Hook2Sisters Ltd based in Devon. For their first session they concentrated on how the farm raised broiler chickens, for meat. Year 11 students studying for Level 2 in Animal Care, and sixth formers studying for Level 3 in Animal Management, had the opportunity to learn more about animal welfare standards and the vast scale of the poultry industry, which led on to a discussion about food sourcing in general. Chris was glad of the opportunity to explain more about his industry and the career opportunities available.

Chris values his time with the students, commenting 'the only way for us to safeguard the future of food production is to open our doors and educate the next generation.'

The school simply described it as a 'money can't buy' experience.
